Old Soul: A person whose spirit has lived many lifetimes and experienced many lessons. Old Souls are usually very calm, understanding, solitary people.

Oracle: A Divine message, the messenger, or the place the message is received.

Past Life Regression: The process of exploring past lives while in a trance-like or hypnotic state.

Past Life Regression Therapy: Explores physical and emotional situations from our past lives so that we can recognize and release past life problems that may be affecting our present life.

Pendulum: Any object suspended freely from a string or chain. The universal vibrations received by the dangling object provide knowledge to the holder of the pendulum usually in the form of simple yes or no answers to the questions asked.

Precognition: Awareness of an event before it happens.

Premonition: A sense of danger, a forewarning of an unfortunate event before it happens.

Presentiment: The sensing of a future feeling.

Prophecy: Foreknowledge of events usually revealed in visions, dreams or through divine revelation

PSI: Scientists use the term to describe the force that manifests psychic phenomena. PSI is also the first letter of the Greek word “psyche” which means “breath” and refers to the human soul.

Psychokinesis: the ability to move physical objects with the mind.

Psychometry: The ability to sense the residual energy and information another leaves on an object or in a location by simply touching it.

Psychic: The ability to draw knowledge from the universal consciousness; to know without conscious reasoning or the use of intuition.

Reiki: Hands on energy healing. See Chakra.

Reincarnation: The return of ones’ spirit or soul to another time in another physical body.

Scrying: A form of divination that induces clairvoyance by concentrating intensely and staring into a shiny surface.

Second Sight: The ability to perceive information about an event in the form of vision before it actually happens.

Self-actualization: To be happy, content and at peace with oneself and ones environment The achievement of personal fulfillment and inner harmony.

Shaman: A member of society (priest, magician, spiritual healer, medicine man, etc.) that acts as a medium or negotiator between the physical world and the spirit world using ritual-like practices for the purpose of healing, predicting or controlling natural events.

Sixth Sense: Extra sensory perception. (see esp) In science known as the physiological “sense of balance”.

Soul: The non-physical essence of your life force. The part of us all that is one with the universal consciousness.

Soul Mate: Someone you have experienced many lifetimes with, learned life’s lessons with, bonded with and loved . Some believe your soul mate is literally the person who carries and completes the other half of your soul.

Spiritualism: A belief in the continuity of the spirit or soul beyond the physical death of the body.

Sun Sign: As the Earth follows an elliptical path around the Sun it passes through an imaginary, 12 part, astrological wheel called the Zodiac. Your Sun Sign indicates in which part of the wheel the Sun was positioned when you were born. It is sometimes referred to as your Birth Sign.

Synchronicity: The belief that everything and everyone in the universe is connected by a universal force and therefore there is no coincidence. The famous Swiss Psychoanalyst, Carl Jung referred to synchronicity as “meaningful coincidence”.

Telepathy: Communicating or receiving thoughts, feelings, images, and/or information without the use of one of the five physical senses..

Third Eye: The chakra located on your forehead, above and between your eyes; also known as the “psychic eye”.

Trance: An altered state of consciousness where the mind is open to suggestion and unable to make conscious decisions.

Tarot: A form of divination using a deck of 78 cards that depict images and symbols based on the Universal knowledge of humanity, including personality types, life cycles and experiences. It uses archetypal behavior patterns and the laws of synchronicity to reveal to the querent the past, present and probable future of a particular situation.

Universal Consciousness: The combined memory and inborn knowledge of all human experience. Carl Jung categorized it into recognizable archetypes, personalities, situations, images, and metaphors that recur consistently throughout mankind’s existence. He was fascinated with the Tarot because of it’s depiction of the above and it’s use of synchronicity to divine the future.

Universal Mind: The source of all the knowledge of the universe, where all souls, experiences, and memories exist. See Universal Consciousness.

Water Signs: Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces. Intuitive, changeable personalities ruled by emotions.

Yoga: A spiritual discipline for achieving a state of perfect insight and tranquility through focused concentration, meditation, postures and controlled breathing. The liberation from suffering through enlightenment is a common goal of all branches.
